Over 30 years ago the DOgrass brand first started its journey in the artificial turf industry by manufacturing synthetic sports pitches. Our knowledge, adaptation and application of technology has revolutionised the artificial grass industry over the years. We began perfecting AstroTurf installations on many surfaces, for example, football pitches, golf greens and synthetic tennis courts. It’s endless what our turf can be used on. When it comes to installation at home, it's as easy, so take a look at how you can do this yourself in your own garden.
When it comes to astroturf football pitches, there are different types of pitches that are being played on these days. Hybrid and synthetic pitches. A hybrid sports pitch combines both natural grass and synthetic fibres of fake grass to produce a surface that can be used for a wide variety of sports, including football, rugby, golf and baseball.
A fully synthetic pitch is often referred to as 2G, 3G or 4G which are 100% artificial fibres. Pile heights, which is the length of the grass, can range from 20mm up to 80mm. The astroturf is infilled with sand or rubber granules to replicate the natural bounce and roll of the real thing. These surfaces are great for all sports ranges like golf greens, football pitches, tennis courts, American football pitches and rugby pitches.
Golf is becoming one of the most played sports for men and women in the UK therefore we are seeing more people across the country installing artificial grass golf putting greens at home.
Why not squeeze in a few minutes of practice at the drop of a hat? Just grab that golf club and you're off.
